The wooden bread box is made of red oak and the food contact products are made from maple and walnut (these woods have closed pores)which are recommended for food contact.
Kitchen products that are made of oak have a beautiful wood grain appearance. All oak items have 3 layers of finish (hand-rubbed finish), giving it a beautiful sheen and a super feel when you place your hand on the box.
